Jane Sterrett is a well-known artist whose work combines photographic imagery with painterly effects to produce a unique and vibrant personal style that is strong in color and tactile values. Her work is versatile and adaptable to a variety of subject matter. Her mixed-media artwork has been commissioned by corporate and editorial clients and has been reproduced internationally.
Sterrett has received numerous awards. Trained as a fine artist, she earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in painting from Yale, and she studied for a time with Oskar Kokoshka in Salzburg. She is currently on the faculty of Pratt Institute in New York City.
