Art furniture is a 3-dimensional, functional art piece that enhances your living environment both artistically and functionally and appeals to your sense of vision, touch and functionality. The intent of my work is to provide energy and movement to an environment.
Millea Furnishings creates furniture that makes a statement. Each piece is its own canvas of bold, abstract designs enhancing the structure itself. The furnishings are sleek and unencumbered since it is the marriage to the surface design that is the focus.
"It is difficult to say which comes first, the surface design or the physical design of the piece of furniture. It is so interdependent and most often happens in tandem. In all cases, a solidly constructed piece of furniture that may have a unique architectural element is joined with color. There is juxtaposition between the simplicity of the structure and the complex layering of color, texture and design."
