Pieces in Ellen Oppenheimer's "Labyrinth" series are explorations of balance of pattern, color and line. She uses dyeing and silkscreen printing to develop patterns and colors. By combining opposite elements, she creates a tension between chaos and order, hard-edged lines and soft materials, confusion and simplicity.
