Joy Saville
"Color has been the focus of my work for more than 20 years. I celebrate color because it centers me in time and grounds me in the moment. It reminds me that we are all part of something greater than our selves."

Joy Saville expresses frozen moments in her fabric constructions by piecing cotton, linen, and silk in an impressionistic, painterly manner. A colorist, she uses the inherent quality of natural fabrics to absorb or reflect light, producing a constant interplay of light, texture and color. Each abstract, non-objective concept is developed as a personal expression or a response to a specific idea or place.
