Ananda Khalsa
"I hope to create elegant pieces that become personal treasures to their wearers."
Ananda Khalsa draws inspiration from Asian art, natural forms and cultural symbolism. Her painted images are rich in symbolic meaning. In Japan, the plum blossom represents rebirth and renewal, and the koi fish is a symbol of strength and courage.
Each of Khalsa's jewelry pieces contains an original painting on paper. She sets the painting behind hand-ground glass into fine and sterling silver. Because she paints each piece individually, they are all unique with slight variations. She works with both silver and high karat gold, and often finishes her jewelry with semiprecious stones.
