"'Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.' This phrase is articulated by the great French painter Edgar Degas, and is my sentiment exactly. "
Billy Evans's work is an invitation for the viewer to experience a new world created. For the moment, disengage from 'normal' visual reality and enjoy something entirely apart.
The work is created with traditional techniques using acrylics on canvas or watercolor paper. The concepts are what makes the art unique.
Evans graduated from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston in 1976 with a B.F.A. in painting. His art is displayed in the four major national art museums in Massachusetts, New York, Mississippi, and Colorado, as well as in numerous corporate collections and Evans Gallery. His art is displayed in private collections in every state of the United States, and in twenty-one countries.
