"I look to the land for my inspiration. It's constant state of change keeps me alert to being a careful observer of my environment."
Cynthia Hron has been involved in the arts for over twenty five years. She maintains a studio practice in rural Pennsylvania along with her painter husband, Vince Hron and their two sons. Cynthia Hron is originally from California where she received her formal training in the visual arts. She has worked in many art forms including sculpture, drawing, and public art projects.
This series of drawings is based on the notion of applied landscape. Hron's personal observations of exterior sites and the disappearance of open space as well as the impression of an ideal setting have influenced this work. The drawings are in Prismacolor pencil or pastel on D'arches hot press or Stonhenge paper. Each drawing is one of kind.
Cynthia Hron holds a BFA form Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and a MFA from California College of the Arts in San Francisco, CA. Hron has had numerous gallery exhibitions of her drawings and sculpture throughout the United States and Canada. Hron has taught drawing, sculpture and design courses at University of NE at Omaha and graphic design at College of Technology in Williamsport, PA.
