Not only does Jane Troup infuse her paintings with nature's radiance, but by pairing familiar objects with surreal forms, she challenges the viewer to see the world through her eyes, to reinterpret the everyday, to embrace the spiritual, and to revel in glorious color.
The artist uses an Old Masters technique, laying down base coats of paint and slowly building up the paint layers. This use of oils creates a beautifully smooth surface.
