Joni Purk, Artist
"I find peace in nature's beauty. My photography offers the viewer a feeling or emotion I experience on location. A flower becomes magical when simplified of color, doorways offer mystery, a tonal landscape can add history, a sunrise, a moment of wonder."
Photographer and artist, Joni Purk creates from the world around her. Unable to limit her subject matter, Joni is often referred to by the public and press as the Artist of Diversity, now a registered trademark. Finding beauty in nature and everyday objects, she strives to create a piece that will speak to the viewer the way it spoke to her on location.
Always with camera in hand, Joni Purk often finds herself scaling walls, descending ravines or climbing terrain to capture that next special place. Her work occurs through the lens, capturing light and shadow, always aware of the composition. Incorporating the latest photographic technology, Joni creates her work to allow archival permanence, saturation and the quality she demands.
Joni Purk is an award winning artist and photographer with over 20 years experience. Her work can be found in collections and installations throughout the United States and Europe. Nationally recognized, Joni is self taught and has furthered her career with private instruction, workshops and college course study.
