Linda Leviton

"Creating art that evokes the color, forms, and textures of nature is central to my art."

Linda Leviton's work combines the inspiration of nature, the cerebral process of design, and her love of metals. It is not only the overall impression of each piece that Leviton seeks, but also the craftsmanship of the details. Sometimes making something look simple requires a lot of thought and planning. Linda Leviton works primarily in non-ferrous metals: copper, brass, and nickel. Since these materials are so wonderfully malleable, Leviton shapes them using techniques including blacksmithing, sheet metal construction, welding, silversmithing, woodworking and printmaking. These techniques form the basis of the modules that she combines into larger wall constructions.
