Nicholas Simile's work is simplified and classically modern, and carries a reference to late 1930s-1940s design and the reductive qualities of modernist architecture. The furniture is clear and minimal, and yet retains a nostalgic feel. The designs are easily incorporated into contemporary interiors but may also enhance traditional settings.

Simile is concerned with shape, function, and craftsmanship. He chooses materials to enhance a design's strength and simplicity. He works with solid wood, veneers, and softly shimmering pearlized lacquer finishes, and enjoys the visual delight of placing light and dark surfaces together.
