Nick Chase

"I am a glass artist consistently influenced by natural and urban landscapes. Starting with blown glass shapes, I emulate textures and patterns that I finds in the world around me."

The inspiration for Nick Chase's art is derived from urban and natural landscapes. Starting with blown glass shapes, he emulates textures and patterns that he has found in the world around him. He applies these textures by sandblasting them onto or into blown glass. Through the use of color and with the transparency of the glass, his pieces become ever-changing forms when affected by different light sources.

Chase begins with a blown glass from and uses a variety of sandblasting resists and techniques to create his desired textures.

Nick Chase is a graduate of the crafts and design program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario.
