"My designs are a reflection of who I am and what I have become. My love for the medium I use allows me to overcome the stiffness of the metal and explore its softness, resulting in different textures, looseness and motions clearly visible in my work.
"
Although fire and physical force are used in its creation, Sana Doumet's work has an ethereal quality, with delicate circles and squares of 18- and 22- karat gold and sterling silver grounded by the marks of the artist. "I want the Jewelry to have a rough look "she says" with the hammer works, so you can see the hand behind the work, but also be refined. Here is 'art" jewelry that is elegant, contemporary and, most important, is wearable without giving the owner the feeling that the jewelry is wearing her.
Each piece is forged, hammered, and textured. The artist uses a satin finish to bring out the ice cold white of the silver against the warmth of the gold.
Sana Doumet was born in Lebanon and studied scultpure in Italy, where she graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She lived in Ecuador for 10 years and now now lives in Clearwater, Florida. Sana was fortunate to live and visit different countries, exploring the magic of the making. Each has a direct influence on her work
