"I am inspired by my immediate surroundings. I hope that my artistic engagement with these surroundings will enhance my experience of them and encourage others to be aware of their own environs."
Vincent Hron has been a practicing artist for over twenty-five years. He maintains a studio in rural Pennsylvania along with his artist wife, Cindi Hron and their two sons. He was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.
Interested in revealing the beauty and symbolic potential in daily activities, Vincent Hron imbues ordinary experiences with heightened significance. Using a contemporary context, Hron engages viewers in cultural assumptions about aesthetics, spirituality, and social responsibility.
Hron received a B.F.A. from Drake University, and an M.F.A. from the University of Michigan. He then studied for a year at the Statliche Akademi der Bilden den Kunst, in Karlsruhe Germany. In 1996, he accepted a position on the art faculty at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. He has received numerous awards and has exhibited his work widely in the United States.
