Art Glass Goblet

Created by Michael Egan
Customer Rating:
50 stars
Swirling glass threads are woven together to create a glass cane marble that is fused to a classic martini glass shape. Suspended in the wall of this clear glass is a grid pattern of round air bubbles that appear to float when the glass is filled. These glasses are colorful, whimsical, and fun to use.

Glass canes are woven together to create a beautiful variety of colors and patterns.

Please Note:
Each marble is unique. Individual patterns and colors will vary from those shown.

About this Artist

Michael Egan Michael Egan Michael Egan Michael Egan

"I employ cane material in my vessels as a painter uses brush strokes, each piece of cane acting as a gesture of color."

Each piece of glass Michael Egan creates is made of solid glass cane material that he designs and produces in his studio. Combining different styles of cane yields a variety of woven or tapestry surfaces and introduces secondary colors and detailed patterns within the walls of the blown glass pieces. The results are at once controlled and serendipitous, distinguished by a painterly, watercolor sensibility.

Recently, Egan began slumping and fusing cane to explore abstract two-dimensional designs and lighting elements. This natural evolution of his creative process has led him to invent new forms of surface design while still working with hot glass.

Marble-tini glass
I gave this glass to my husband for Valentines day. He uses it to drink cosmopolitans. The base marble is beautiful with the abstract colored glass threads inside and the air bubbles in the top part of the glass make a patterned reflection on the table underneath. The base is heavy so the glass is not tippy, despite it's elegant design. This product is even better up close than in the picture. It makes you enjoy every sip.
