Endowed with visual subtlety and lumimous color, the formed glass sculptures of David Van Noppen are products of a rich aesthetic sense and masterful craftsmanship. Whether gracefully curving vegetative forms, sweeping vases, or delicate flowers, his pieces exemplify the glassmaker's art.

Born in the western, mountainous corner of North Carolina where he developed skills in hang gliding and rock climbing at an early age, Van Noppen has long been fascinated by the transformation of properties in nature. For him, glassblowing ? the process of moving from a solid to a molten, aqueous state and arriving at solid form again ? is an inevitable extension of this interest. After moving from his studio in Providence, RI in 2008, David has been creating his glass in Altadena, ca.
