These hand blown vases feature opaque glass with a contrasting lip and vertical stripes with hand cut silver leaf in a grass pattern encircling the opening.

This new organic pattern makes a beautiful stage for any flower arrangement and is particularly striking with a paired down ikebana style arrangement. Each vessel is a unique result of hand cut silver foil and free blown glass.

"I am committed to lifelong learning. Currently, I am looking at ceramic shapes, particularly Chinese ceramics, and beginning to learn Chinese and refine my calligraphy."

Explorations of form and color have always marked Richard Jones' glass artistry. The fact that the work is handblown, using traditional glassmaking techniques, is an integral part of each design, allowing for a wide variety of designs and imbuing each piece with subtle but significant features.

Jones' abiding interest in new directions has lately steered him toward Chinese ceramics. Chinese characters and motifs adorn his work. In all his pieces he seeks balance, harmony and a sense of peace. Objects that bear witness to the silence inherent in all things.
