Michael Trimpol's work explores the nature of the glass. He feels a particular love for glass in its molten state, and he channels that love into the creation of objects of beauty and originality; vases, perfume bottles, and more.

Michael works with glass using traditional techniques, gathering and blowing the molten glass until each piece achieves the balance and harmony he is striving for. He often incorporates processes such as cold working, sandblasting and/or cutting and polishing in order to accentuate or focus on characteristics of the material.

Not what I expected
This is a nice product, but nowhere near what I expected. It does not look in my house like it looks in the picture. First of all, they picked his best sample to photograph. Mine was not symmetrical (higher on the right than the left) and did not have as many rows of colored ribs. But I could have lived with that.The main problem is it's not bright and colorful like they've shown. They must have had bright lights shining from every angle of the vase to create that brilliant display of colors. It will not look this way on your shelf. I have glass shelves that are lit with a mirror behind them. While at night when I have it lit it's semi-colorful, in the day it simply looks dark from anywhere in the room. The glass is much thicker than it looks and with all the color on both sides of the vase, overall it appears dark. I was so excited to receive this glass art and have tried everything to brighten it up (except put an actual light bulb INSIDE it), but I'm afraid I will have to exchange it for another item. I'm very happy with the copper/wood clock I bought on this site, but I'm afraid the glass art may never look as good as in the photos...

Better than I imagined it would be
The perfect execution and graceful proportions and form enhance the vibrant colors to captivate the eye and delight the imagination. Used as a vase, or , as I do, by itself in a sunny window or with accent lighting, it transforms the space in which it is shown. You might think the mixture of colors and textures would overpower - but they are just right. A great gift for anyone who loves fine craftsmanship by a terrific artist.

The vase is beautiful!
The vase is beautiful and brings me joy to look at it. It reminds me of the gorgeous sunsets over the Pacific Ocean in Maui reflecting on the waves. I smile every time I look at it.Linda Allred
