This piece is hand blown glass that uses a technique called inciso, small cuts placed into the surface of the glass. The vase will have two layers of color applied to it. After the piece has cooled it is then hand cut into, using a variety of diamond wheels. As the exterior layer is cut through the interior color is becomes revealed. These pieces are extremely labor intensive, and only a handful of them are made each year.
