An exuberant hand-built sugar and creamer ride happily on a hand-built porcelain tray. All of the forms are rimmed in a soft peachy coral with accents of soft aqua, Celtic swirls and tiny red dots. A charming porcelain spoon adds a sense of delight, as do the tiny feet on the sugar and creamer. This set is sure to be treasured for generations and savored for its detail and whimsical style. The porcelain is high-fired to over 2300 F, and glazed in a clear glaze with subtle crazing. The pieces are food safe, of course, and it would probably be best if you hand wash them.

Carol Barclay's work in white clay is recognizable by its undulating organic design. In the course of more than three decades in the studio, Barclay has learned how to gently coax the soft clay into graceful whirls and elegant constructions. Her forms seem to freeze a moment of fluidity, with references to flowing fabric, sea forms and garden blooms. Barclay first designs organic shapes of white clay, then sculpts, carves and combines them to create elegant, visually exciting sculptural forms.
