Heidi Fahrenbacher

Bella Joy Pottery

"I create whimsical porcelain vessels that capture a single moment in time."

As a child, ceramic artist Heidi Fahrenbacher would draw for hours. She continues to draw as an adult, incorporating her drawings into her ceramics work. The crayon-like colors of underglaze pencils enhance her simple line drawings. Fahrenbacher is continually fascinated by the natural and synthetic world that surrounds us.

Heidi Fahrenbacher's work is made of porcelain. Each piece is handmade with drawings done by the artist. All work is fired in her studio, a converted chicken coop.

Heidi Fahrenbacher has a degree in fine arts and art history from Kalamazoo College. She apprenticed for ceramic artists Tom Kendall and Michael Kifer and has taken numerous workshops.
