"Porcelain Trumpet Lily Vase and Candle Holder"

This is an exquisitely detailed hand-built piece. It is inspired by a wonderfully fragrant profusion of lilies in the artist's perennial garden.

Five graceful and textured porcelain petals surround an inner container and the base of the vessel is circled by curvaceous leaves of two sizes. The glaze of the petals is a complex mix of peach, pink and soft yellow, with a thin rim of fuchsia at each tip. The yellow is also used as an accent on the rim of the inner vessel. The leaves are glazed in shades of green, aqua and chartreuse with a tiny accent of pink at the base of the larger ones. Each piece is made by hand and will vary slightly.

This porcelain beauty stands alone as a small tabletop sculpture, but can also be used as a vase for an intimate bouquet of flowers, or for a taper and a circle of blossoms. Any gardener is sure to treasure the botanical inspiration evident in this porcelain vessel. It is a lovely birthday, wedding or anniversary gift.

Crafted in porcelain, this durable vase will be enjoyed for generations. Dishwasher safe, though you may prefer to hand-wash.

Carol Barclay's work in white clay is recognizable by its undulating organic design. In the course of more than three decades in the studio, Barclay has learned how to gently coax the soft clay into graceful whirls and elegant constructions. Her forms seem to freeze a moment of fluidity, with references to flowing fabric, sea forms and garden blooms. Barclay first designs organic shapes of white clay, then sculpts, carves and combines them to create elegant, visually exciting sculptural forms.
