Slab-built with sculpture clay and raku fired. Dry pine needles burning on the copper-glazed surface creates the colorful and varied "stones". The "Streambed" series is inspired by shallow water moving over colored pebbles.

"For two-thirds of my life I have been working with clay. I would need several additional lifetimes to explore all the facets of this fascinating and limitless material."

Green responds to the immediacy and spontaneity of the raku firing process, which results in a vibrant depth and range of color. This layered color enhances her natural images, such as stones in water and the night sky.
