"Jessie Cafe Table"

Concrete & Art Glass Cafe Table

Created by Terence S. Dubreuil
this item has not yet been reviewed
Cafe table made from steel-reinforced concrete, wood, and cast glass. The glass tiles are 5" square and are set into the concrete in fitted rubber gaskets, invisible from the top, which relieve stress between the concrete and the glass. The concrete is mixed with a 50% acrylic additive to improve stain and weather resistance. The concrete is formed over welded steel armatures and has small stones, beach glass, and handmade marbles set into the surface. "Paradox Art" is embossed into the concrete. After casting and pressure washing the concrete, it is cured for up to 14 days. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Top and base shipped unconnected; assembly instructions included. Top weighs 140 lbs; base weighs 60 lbs.

About this Artist

Terence S. Dubreuil

"I grew up on Long Island's Gold Coast, exploring the abandoned mansions of the Gilded Age. I'm still inspired by these massive and oddly-shaped architectural artifacts — softly worn by the Long Island Sound and bleached by the sun."

Terence Dubreuil's furniture incorporates simple, archetypal forms and geometry from varied places and ages, giving his work a bold, weathered industrial character. Dubreuil's pieces combine the brilliance of hand-cast glass with worn steel-reinforced concrete, weathered wood, beach stones, and aged metal. The woodwork is built using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery.

His tabletops are handmade from several hundred-part molds. His wall sconces are made individually from small tumbled bricks of hand-cast glass and epoxy concrete.
