Each sphere is carefully hand-crafted from twelve sterling silver triangles. They are soldered, assembled, and connected together to create a refined array of floral elegance. Oxidized and 24k gold plated sterling silver. Olive color freshwater pearls and lever back closure. Due to natural variations, pearls can range from olive green to olive brown.

About this Artist

Chihiro Makio

"From an early age I have loved creating precious little things."

Chihiro Makio first considered a career as a painter. While in college, however, she discovered the fun and endless possibilities of three-dimensional materials. Wood, fiber, glass, and metals were some of her favorites.

Makio hand fabricates her jewelry pieces from both metal and glass, using oxidized sterling silver, 24K gold-plated silver, and gold-lined glass beads. She pierces the metals and then sews the elements together with thread and the delicate beads.
