Tiny, intricate clusters of oxidized silver pods rustle delicately with movement. A single 18k gold-covered seed hides within a pod on the neckpiece and one of the earrings. A second seed visually balances the uniquely shaped neckpiece.

"My work has a fragile, ethereal quality that belies its inherent strength and durability. The intricately soldered pieces of forged and formed 18 karat gold and silver require countless solder points. The open structure allows people to glimpse inside to spaces usually unseen, to the play of shadows and layers revealed. I endeavor to capture, in each of my sculptural pieces, certain elusive and contradicting qualities, asymmetry with symmetry, fragility with strength. "

Beverly Tadeu's artistic endeavors began with sculpture during her university years, and it is the ability to create miniature sculpture in the form of functional art that most intrigues the artist.

Torch in hand, she spends countless hours in her studio challenging herself to explore new creative designs and unique techniques.

Tadeu's finely soldered art jewelry pieces have been published in numerous books and magazines and are shown at leading craft shows and galleries across the US.
