"I find an artistic medium in metal. I aim for my works to display feelings and accompany flights of fancy. Mostly inspired by nature, I like to create jewels steeped in freedom and movement. "

Sonia's jewels are nothing less than portable works of art. Drawing her inspiration from the natural world, and travel to distant lands Sonia is passionate about crafting pieces which evoke a sense of freedom and movement. Besides their formal, plastic values Sonia also wants her works to be an expression of meaning, reflecting both emotions and ideas. Sterling silver, 18k gold, pearls and feathers are recurring elements, and her techniques come from traditional jewelery. Metal is a medium she uses for artistic expression.

The "If I had wings...." collection features exclusive jewelry crafted from thin sterling silver plates and decorated with laminated feather impressions and chips of 18k gold. Despite a common structure, each of these craft jewels is unique.

In 1999 Sonia completes a jeweler's degree in Quebec City (Quebec, Canada). Sonia is keen to explore the art of jewel making in such place as Africa, Belgium and Brazil. In the meantime, she also received grants for independent worker and for a master class with Michel-Alain Forgues, a great jeweler of Quebec. Since then, she keeps developing her work independently and takes different marketing workshops.

very disappointed, returning it
the inside edges were sharp, the dark part wasn't dark at all, and there was very little gold. It was ordered for a wedding ring, but it was such a let down when we actually received it...goes back tomorrow. So sad :-(

My husband loved it!
I bought this as a gift for my husband to replace a wedding band that had become too small during the past 35 years. He loves it! The gold accents are eyecatching without the pricetag of a solid gold ring. We did need to exchange it for a bigger size. He is a size 10.25,and customer service recommended going up to a 10.5 for the narrower version band. As it turned out, he needed to go up to an 11, but it was no problem getting it promptly replaced. Definitely order up at least a half size.

Wonderful and creative
ordered a 1/2 size up on the smaller width and glad that I did. The smaller size is great for my size 7 hands and the larger would have been overpowering. I love this ring and wear it often. I would highly recommend. I do wish it were a signed pieced.

Lovely and unusual
Overall, I love my spool ring as it is just what I had been looking for - something unusual and attractive too. I purchased the narrower ring and it is just right for my average size hands. However, I wish the artist had signed the inside of the ring as it is as much art as it is jewelery. And the surface was a little rough in a few places that could snag on clothing so I had to smooth those out but that did not noticeably alter the surface in any way.

Beautiful Rings!
I ordered this ring, first for myself to see how it would look. Then I ordered it for my husband because it is so beautiful. This is even though the first night that I wore mine, we took a hot tub and the oxidization wore off. I corresponded with the artist who indicated that the ring shouldn't be worn in hot tubs or pools (something I reported to Arful.home to disclose for future sales)and then applied liver of sulfer to re-oxidize and then used a dremel to soft-buff the oxidization to make it look like I first received it. The results are fantastic--just like I received it, although now I remove my ring for showers, dishwashing, moisturizing and any other contact with substances that I'm concerned about. We've received so many compliments on the rings! Order at least 1/2 size larger than you need because the size of even the smaller ring (of the two shown) is substantial and requires a larger size, especially if your knuckle is much larger than the rest of your finger, which mine is. I love this ring and am happy to know that I can re-oxidize it easily if it needs it.

Even better than expected!
Knowing my (narrow band) ring is unique, that the gold and oxidized silver blend and contrast with the brighter silver, that I can twirl the ring to change my view of it, and that its proportions look just right with the top and bottom framing are all real pleasures. I don't know the value of the gold and silver in the ring as metals, but the artwork is priceless. Unique & beautiful ring
I purchased this ring as a wedding band for myself. I had wanted a band that was different & unique, but not overly expensive. When I saw this ring, I was immediately impressed with the one-of-a-kind design and the use of oxidized silver. I'm very petite and usually wear a size 4.5 ring. I was initially concerned that even the smaller version of this ring was approximately 1 cm in width and perhaps would be too wide. But I have to say it looks great on my hand, and not too big or too chunky at all! I did order the ring one quarter size larger than I usually wear just because it was wide. The ring was very true to size and the quarter-size increase gave me just enough room to wear the ring comfortably without it being too large. The design is extremely unique and quite eye-catching. I receive compliments on this ring all the time. The design is so versatile that the ring looks great whether I'm dressed up or dressed down.

??? The artist wasn't kidding about ordering a 1/2 size up on the wide band, glad I followed the advice. ??? Love that its solid metal and not hollowed out. ??? Needs "matching" pieces

Spectacular! A one-of-a-kind work of art
This ring is gorgeous! I have the wide band andordered a size and a half up as I know wide ringscan be tight on the hand and it was perfect.This ring is beautiful for both every day and special occassions and blends with both silver andgold.
