"I grew up surrounded by contemporary artists of all mediums, but found my creative passion in working with glass.

Marna Clark transforms her love of fabric into glass with these fluid, transparent jewelry designs. Clark carefully flameworks thin, thread-like pieces of glass, stretching, bending, winding and fusing the pieces before stringing them into striking three-dimensional forms. The play of color and light infuses a unique quality into the neck pieces, which seem to shimmer and come alive when worn. The pieces are versatile enough to wear with everything from classic white t-shirts to formal gowns.

Clark's background in flameworked glass includes studies in Murano, Italy, where she learned Venitian flamework and color techniques and training in San Miguel Allende, Mexico, where she studied with flamework pioneer Susan Plum. Clark has also studied flamework techniques at the Penland School of Craft, and has attended many intensive workshops throughout her 10 years of working in glass.
