This playful yet sturdy knit pant is meant to be lived in, traveled in, and enjoyed.

By choosing soft, comfortable, knit fabrics for easy care, lasting quality, and unique texture, Ilyin creates a sophisticated yet easy look for the woman of creativity and confidence.

Influenced early on by the great Asian designers and the European deconstruction trend, Ilyin combines a Japanese esthetic and a European edginess with a casual California approach. "It's almost a cliche, but I always start with the fabric. I am so attracted by the drape, comfort, and freedom of knits . . . just add a new motif and a great knit will practically drape itself on the mannequin into something wonderful."

About her training Alexandra Ilyin says, "I am what they call self-taught, if there is any such thing. My parents were both accomplished artists. My mother taught me all about form, my father taught me everything about color. How lucky am I?"

great, fun pants
I bought these pants with some trepidation because I am 5'2"--unlike the 5'10" model!! And I was unsure about the size, since I hover between a petite 8 and 10 in most pants. So based on advice from this site's online chat, I got the small, which turned out to be the right size. Not sure if these pants would fly in more formal settings (like a buttoned up office environment), but they will be great for traveling (no ironing required) and nearly all casual social settings. MORE COLORS, PLEASE.

Most amazing pants I have ever owned!
These pants are amazing! The design of the wide waist band creates a very flattering look, and they are incredibly comfortable. You control the length with the adjustable bungee cord detailing. They can be easily dressed up or down--great for work and play. I immediately ordered a second pair--clearly one pair was not going to be enough-- I could live in these pants all summer!
