"I want my pieces to look like they just took a deep breath."

Susan Hill has been a professional fiber artist since 1976 and currently lives and maintains a studio in Kansas City, Missouri. The artist exhibits her work in invitational shows across the country, as well as selected art fairs, including the Smithsonian Craft Fair in Washington D.C. and the Plaza Art Fair in Kansas City. Her work is in many private collections, including Temple B'nai Jehudah, American Airlines, North Kansas City Hospital, and E.I. duPont de Nemours.

"My inspiration and passion is nature, more specifically my garden. I relish all stages of a plant's life and the changes through the seasons. I draw from the colors, patterns, and juxtaposing textures offered in nature. Using a variety of yarns in my hand-woven tapestry, fabrics, and stitching, I create form, texture, and movement."
