About this Artist

Dawn Estrin

"My work presents the natural world as seen through a prism of fantasy and mystery."

Dawn Estrin's love of animals and nature inform much of her subject matter. Using a variety of creative computer tools, the artist combines elements into an illustrative photo-montage. Estrin loves the idea of using jewelry as a vehicle for presenting imagery with universal or archetypal suggestions.

Each jewelry design starts with an original hand built model. Estrin incorporates engraving, stamps, and patterned metal into the pieces. The unusual shapes that contain the imagery are based on special tooling that is handmade in her studio. Estrin is influenced by a number of decorative arts styles, most notably Art Deco.

Dawn Estrin considers herself fortunate to have studied jewelry making at the Cleveland Institute of Art during junior high and high school. The artist also has a BFA, majoring in painting and drawing.

beautiful!
I had already bought the earrings. When I saw their was a matchingl necklace, I easily persuaded my husband to buy it for me. I love it! While the chain is too long for my neck, it is easily adjustable to fit any length neck.

The pendant came with an additional picture on the back of a couple hugging. I don't know who the couple is and I felt it took away from the personal nature of the pendant since I was giving it to my wife as a gift. The cat has meaning for her. The hug does not, as I give those to her myself.

Picture Perfect
This pendant arrived and looks exactly like it appeared online. I'm loving the black cat with her air of mystery and I love the blue crystal accent. It's perfect, would not change a thing.

Beautiful Spirit
This pendant is so beautiful and protrays the spirit of dogs, joy and love. Sometimes you order on line and the item doesn't look anything like you ordered but this was spot on. If you need a little joy in your life, you must order this necklace!!!
