About this Artist

Ken Girardini and Julie Girardini

"We are inspired by the duality of metal -- how it can be molten and fluid in one state and cool and structured in another."

In this husband and wife partnership, Ken is the welder and Julie the finisher. Together, they create objects for the home that look artful and sculptural even before a bottle of merlot or a daisy is added.

To begin, Ken and Julie gather metal bits and pieces from around their studio and try different combinations of scale and size until they find a basic form with aesthetic appeal. Ken draws from his background with NASA to engineer these designs. Their pieces are built from structural or cold-finished steel, welded, polished and ground until smooth.

Perfect for display
This is well made and of high quality. But it would be much better if there was a hole to hang the object from. I had to drill my own and for the price I think the artist should provide that.

Heirloom Quality
This workmanship of this item is exceptional. I've purchased less expensive mass produced ornament displays and they have been unsatisfactory. This item is not even comparable to those that are mass produced. It will last longer perhaps long enough to even be a heirloom. The weight of it is substantial and it is unlikely that the stand will tip over like others I have. The brushed finishing on the metal is striking. Recommended.

It's Perfect
An artist friend had given me an ornament he made, and I did not have a great way to display it. Now I do! I am a big fan of Asian inspired design, and this piece is simple, elegant and does not overpower the ornament on display. The craftsman ship is excellent.

Single Ornament Display
Dull steel as opposed to high lustre photo on web site. Cheaply constructed. Not worth over $25. Very disappointed as all other items I have purchased from your catalogue/web site are excellent.

How does one hang the ornament?
As a gift for my mother, the stand is lovely, but it doesn't come with any means to hang an ornament, the very reason for which it was designed. Neither, in turn, does the pictured ornament come with any sort of hanger. For the price, one should not be expected to improvise a hanger for such beautiful art.
