Double bench for double people.The seat form is made out of cold mold, hand-made plywood cut to 7/8" wide strips . This form is built out of seven layers of 1/8" thick Ash and Padauk, glued to form a specific diameter . the bottom part is cut out of 48 inch diameter , the sides part are cut out of 96 inch diameter and the top is out of 192 inch. Similar to Fibonacci number, the sequence of parts diameters are double of the one next to it. The finish is water base lacquer . Four iron rods hold the parts together .

Yokhai Givon's chairs and wall pieces are born out of an interest in technology and its influence on the way we see, feel, and comprehend the new reality imposed on us. He chose to document the primary form of a circle and explore its transformation as it goes through a particular media. The challenge with his furniture was to make a piece of seating where he could meditate in front of the wall pieces he was making at the time.

Givon's seating forms are made out of handmade hardwood plywood glued over a particular diameter form, then cut to sizes and assembled together. The wall pieces are sequential photos along a marked circle on the floor, then spliced and glued on a pre-formed plywood form.

The artist grew up with mother-painter at home. He has worked in sculpture, mainly in clay plaster cement and paper, from the age of nine, and took and some junior art classes at a local museum. Givon holds a B.F.A. in sculpture from the Boston Museum School, and an M.F.A. from the Pratt Institute. His work comes from wood and photos images, and from his personal doodle books.
