"My work is a stylized mix of things I find alluring in today's culture, architecture, product design, packaging and Asian culture. I combine all these influences into one cohesive form."

Furniture maker Brad Reed Nelson designs and makes pieces that celebrate sculptural forms and incorporate a Zen spirituality. At the same time he refuses to take himself or his work too seriously, instilling a sense of humor in his pieces as well.

The artist develops his designs while he works on each piece of furniture, making strategic decisions as he goes. He responds to the materials at hand and their shapes to create the proper design elements. He also incorporates his love of the natural world and his concern for the environment wherever he can; often using reclaimed wood in his tables and stands.
