A playful twist on a traditional side table. Baltic birch plywood construction with painted finish. Distressed edges accentuate the playful shape. Step design with two pull drawers with brushed nickel knobs.

"The act of creation is a profoundly satisfying experience. Taking an abstract idea, giving it form, refining proportions, placing lines, integrating functionality, and endowing this spark of imagination with real, physical presence is a process that gives me great joy."

A key part of Vincent Leman's creation process is the integration of function into the form. The artist strives to create furniture that is functional to the degree that it may be successfully integrated into daily life, yet--equally important--provides a spark to brighten the routine of daily life. He finds joy in discovering new ways to mix art and life and to make art more accessible.

Leman's work has been described as 'abstract traditional furniture.' Each piece is essentially a traditional furniture form that is stretched, curved, stacked, and stepped to fit his design intentions. While he works in wood, Leman considers his actual medium to be 'traditional furniture.' The classical root of each piece helps maintain its identity as furniture and keeps the work familiar and approachable despite the unusual shapes.

Beautifully Crafted
I've wanted to purchase this table for a while but the price was a bit steep. However, it's beautiful and it fits into my room...don't laugh, master bathroom, like a charm. I love the design and that it's made in this country. I love that the furniture master is truly a master at his craft.

I paired this table in iron oxide with the "Gisela" lamp by Caryn Kinzing. The combination is absolutely adorable! Makes me smile every time I look at it!The table is very well made--heavy and solid. The drawers side beautifully. It is a bit small, but that's ok for an accent table. The lamp is gorgeous too--very well made. Great attention to detail.Thanks Artful Home for providing a place for artists to share their wares. I'm certain that I'll shop here again. [...]
