"Taking my inspiration from traditional Native American cultures, I see my raven-crows as messengers who are able to travel and communicate freely between the physical and spritual realms."

Mark Orr is a lifelong artist and wood carver as well as a collector of vintage artifacts. Drawing inspiration from cultural history, Orr carves raven-crows to represent their historic role as messengers between realities and the couriers of change. Combining his carved raven-crows and the symbolic objects that humans seem compelled to collect, Mark Orr unites the message and the messenger.

A Perfect Gift for My Crow Loving Wife
My wife has always loved crows and ravens and I bought this as a gift for her on our 22nd wedding anniversary. I stumbled across this item while searching artfulhome.com for wall decor, and the moment I saw it I couldn't imagine a more appropriate, perfect representation of our relationship. She, with her slightly dark sense of humor and love of crows, is the crow who holds the key to my heart.Needless to say, she loved and understood Mark Orr's work the moment she saw it, and it now decorates our home as a statement of our love for each other. Crows, you see, take only one mate for life.
