Rachel Tribble

Rachel Tribble

"The serenity of deep color is like velvet. It is like staring at the stars on the darkest of nights and walking quietly through a garden during the full moon with someone you love. My hope is to bring these joyful moments into your home and life through my work."

My expression is an attempt to reach into nature, to explore the dimensions we experience in dreams or meditation. Those we cannot see on the conscious level and make them visual to us.

I have developed a drying technique when using watercolor that allows me to layer the paint in a way not normally done with this medium Additionally I use a similar technique with oil paint. This allows me to create the depth of color for which my work is known.

Rachel Tribble studied fine arts at Syracuse University and the National Academy of Design in New York. Her use of color was fine tuned when working as a jewelry designer painting gemstones. Rachel's interest in light came from years of creating three dimensional light oriented installations for rock nightclubs and rave productions. Her exploration of nature is deeply influenced by her husband, who is Native American and the traditional teachings of his tribe
