|Dining Room Chairs|
|A woman in New York has a "thing" for chili peppers. Her kitchen features chili pepper wallpaper, and she often serves meals to guests on her chili pepper dishes. It is no wonder that when she cam across the work of Artful Home artist Craig Nutt, who creates hand-carved furniture in the form of vegetables, she was immediately intrigued and wondered if he could apply his innovative flair to creating some very special chairs for her home.
The client worked with Artful Home’s Custom Design Consultant to commission Craig to create a set of six dining room chairs. The client used the artist rendering to select the leather seat colors. She requested a different seat color for each chair, and Craig wanted to ensure she was happy with the various colors as they were paired with the two chair styles (some have "carrots" for front legs, the others have "peppers").
The client was thrilled with chairs, and has gone on to commission Craig to create a dining table to match!
|One new homeowner wanted to find a unique mailbox but dreaded a lengthy search. Instead, she contacted the Artful Home with her requirements. We contacted our list of metal artists, and many sent back their ideas. Boris Bally, whose salvaged metal pieces can be found in the Smithsonian, made a prototype and e-mailed the image to her. She loved it, and now she is the proud owner of a mailbox so unusual it stops neighborhood traffic!|
|Artful Home’s Custom Design Center was able to help a Florida couple complete a bedroom set for their second home. Having purchased Brad Smith’s Highpost Bed and End Tables, the homeowners were looking in vain for a dresser to match Smith’s pieces. Artful Home’s Custom Design Consultant suggested commissioning a piece from Smith for an exact match, and a commission was born.
The Design Consultant guided the homeowners through a series of questions to begin the process, including desired dimensions, number of drawers, and price. The homeowners indicated they also wanted Smith to incorporate some of this signature decorative birds on the dresser.
After the clients requested a few modifications to Smith’s rendering, Smith went to work on the project, which was delivered within a few months to the delight of the clients.
