David Clancy began his career in the late eighties as a solo craftsman trying to sell his wares. Ten years later, with the addition of wife and business partner Jennifer, Clancy Designs was born.

The Clancys strive to combine beauty and function, noting that while Michelangelo carved David, he still drank his wine from a goblet. Their goal is to fuse the inspirational with the practical, resulting in useful artworks that serve the everyday. The artists' work can be seen at prominent craft shows such as the American Craft Council in Baltimore, the Buyers Market of American Craft, and the New York International Gift Show, as well as in galleries and museum stores across the country.
