"Each of my paintings is an unique tactile expression of the passion I feel for nature. I use color, form, and texture as a means to interpret the extraordinary beauty I see all around me.

Originally experimenting with texture as both a challenge and as a means to minimize detail in her paintings, these 'two dimensional sculptures' soon became Jane's signature style. The texture, composition and unexpected color all work together in these evocative landscapes, and seem to speak of simpler times.
A unique layering process is used to create highly textured paintings with an organic feel. Jane builds layer after layer of texture and acrylic color on a cradled surface, giving the finished product a great deal of depth.
Jane Hunt received her B.F.A. from the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Art in 1993. She continued her art education by experiencing art communities in France, England, Indonesia and China while studying various painting techniques. It was during these travels that she discovered her love of the more textural style of painting she works in today. Jane periodically takes classes at the Art Students League of Denver as well as being actively involved in the Daily Painting movement.
