David Alan Corbin

"I love to create a piece of art that will provide years of beauty for the collector. A piece that can be touched and that allows the viewer to participate in the creative journey."

David Alan Corbin grew up in an artistic family, which provided the discipline to pursue an art career. An accomplished photographer and metal sculptor, Corbin was always looking for ideas that involved viewer participation. His recent addition of kaleidoscopes to his body of work provides a creative outburst not only for him but also for the buyer.

Using a combination of steel, resin, bronze powder binder, and patina, the artist creates a functional, elegant heirloom. The rotating bowl allows for infinite color combinations by introducing the viewer's own personal items and ideas. The optical excellence of the artist's hand-cut front surface mirrors offers superior brightness and sharpness.

David Alan Corbin grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and began his art career at the age of ten when he purchased his first camera. His travels later took him to Texas, where he started experimenting in fine art photography. Never afraid to get his hands dirty, he was introduced to metal and clay sculpture after his many journeys to Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico. He lives in Amarillo, Texas.
