Leta Davis and David Ross

"Our collaboration in ceramics is an exciting and dynamic balancing act. The creative energy we generate together often feels like a wild torrent, harnessed through discipline and many years of hard work."

Leta Davis and David Ross came together as classical musicians before discovering similar artistic passions. Their diverse skills with clay and canvas found the perfect common ground creating ceramic vessels and sculpture. Both are inspired and motivated by the desire to create work that pushes out boundaries while retaining the power of simplicity and restraint.

David's focus on wheel thrown forms provides the canvas for Leta's infinite design ideas. She co-creates vessels and hand sculpted pieces and provides surface design. David has formulated their glazes through years of experimenting, and handles glaze application and firing. They use both porcelain and stoneware clays, employing a variety of unusual high and low firing techniques.

After receiving a Fine Art degree from Connecticut College, Leta Davis created the Cariati Decorative Art and Mural Company in Boston. Commissions include the Copley Plaza and Shawmut Bank of Boston, and she was featured in HG magazine. David Ross's work has been featured in Designer's West Magazine, Better Homes Magazine and TV, Old House Interiors, and "Arts and Crafts Style and Spirit" by Chase Ewald.
