Ellen Hermanos

"Newness presents the opportunity to change."

Painter Ellen Hermanos is interested in the exploration of color and the creation of texture. Using a brush, a palette knife, and a sponge roller, she adds and removes color, excited about unintentional combinations, which create new, unexpected results.

Hermanos works each each painting in multiple layers, adding and removing, allowing pieces of previous decisions to show through, insinuating other times and layers, other lives.

The artist received a BA in Art History/Fine Art at William Smith College. a Graphic Design Certificate from the Massachusetts College of Art, and attended the Museum School of Fine Arts--Scuola Internazionale di Graficain Venice, Italy.
