Gerrie Shapiro

"I love working with brilliant colors and juxtaposing different patterns. I enjoy personalizing my pieces to celebrate life cycle events. "

Gerrie Shapiro has an intuitive feeling for arranging color and pattern. After enjoying the success of creating large assemblage pieces, she has returned to her first love: drawing. She is now creating unique table-top objects combining detailed drawing and 3 dimensional objects.

Shapiro also consults with her clients to create personalized pieces celebrating life events such as births and anniversaries. The ink/colored pencil drawings and alphabet blocks are detailed and rendered in the tromp l'oeil style. Shapiro specializes in Judaica.

Shapiro attended The Rhode Island School of Design, El Instituto De Allende in San Miguel, Gto. Mexico and The UNAM in Mexico D.F.
