Ista Design by Mevesh
Mevesh Ozagar's unique creations invoke the harmonious forms found in Byzantine and Ottoman architectural decoration, and the traditional flower and animal motifs found in the Turkish ceramic and textile works. While her influences are ancient, Ozagar's designs are truly modern, hip and full of the individuality and dynamism that are New York City.
Each of Ozagar's pieces is beautifully crafted in hand-hammered or smooth 18K gold, oxidized silver, and natural gemstones including diamond, prehnite, emerald, ruby, sapphire, malachite, moonstone, lapis, tourmaline, rose, smoky and rutilated quartz. The artist approves every stone for the highest beauty and quality.
Ozagar graduated with honors from Mimar Sinan University—one of Turkeys oldest fine arts academies. After graduation she trained with the master jewelry artisans of Istanbul ancient Grand Bazaar. She won international design awards and, in 1994, immigrated to the United States, where she studied at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.
