Jeanne Petrosky and Dennis Guzenski

JPDesignArt

"We create things that you don't need, but that deep down, your soul requires. All of our artworks focus on nature through color and texture, with the aim to help people find their inner calm and create peace."

Paper artist Jeanne Petrosky and faux-finish artist Dennis Guzenski bring their talents and experiences together to approach papermaking art in an unconventional way. A husband-and-wife team, they have been pushing the limits of papermaking since 1987.

The fact that Petrosky and Guzenski make their own papers sets them apart. They have the liberty to create a textural or smooth canvas for their paintings. Their unique papermaking process begins by hydrating cotton fiber into pulp. The pulp is sprayed onto wire mesh, creating sturdy papers that can withstand the layering of paints, which gives their art a sense of richness.

Jeanne Petrosky's training in fine art and craft gave her the thirst to learn more about her artistic voice. She continues to participate in workshops on papermaking and other crafts. With a background in house painting, Dennis Guzenski found his love of faux finishing while taking a course in New York. He has since switched roles, and now makes all the paper for their art.
