Jennifer Wagner Studio
Jennifer Wagner's expressionist style seeks to capture relationships within the whole. Rejecting the notions of kitsch and conflict, she envisions her work as being alive, assigning anthropomorphic qualities to each natural form or signature soft square object.
Wagner refers to her technique as "fore and aft acrylic painting." By working on the front and reverse sides of her acrylic substrates, she manipulates transparency, reflection, and texture, causing light to navigate its way through the piece and back to the viewer.
In the countryside of the south Texas coast, Wagner has spent the last five years studying under Alan Alldredge, a master of digital mixed media. With constant access to this advanced studio and her prior training as an auto paint technician, Wagner has very quickly seen her work grow in maturity.
