John Longo

"We see many things every day, but only rarely do we feel them as we see them. As an artist I aspire to evoke feelings with what people see."

For John Longo, the most fascinating part of glasswork is not the finished product, but the process of creating the piece itself. By weaving techniques in blown and cast glass with metallic and many other materials, his art resonates in simplicity, while evoking challenges that rise in the mind and soul. Glass is the only medium that allows him to create forms that while solid possess movement

John Longo's art is a creation of melted glass with fluid texture. The influence of movement through heat and gravity is blown, bended, shaped and molded. A spectrum of color and hues are melted into the artwork with a style designed to reveal the mystic beauty of blown glass. By combining this with metal and other materials he creates a balance between harsh and soft which reflects life itself.

John has owned and operated several business over the course of his artistic career. Starting as a freelance artist in 1975, he has since created Glass Design, Longo Art Glass, Inc., and currently owns and operates Circle 6 Studios in downtown Phoenix.
