For painter Konstantin Konstantinov, his life is his art. The artist begins each painting by creating a narrative-- a scene that creates some kind of story. These stories are his interpretations of nature and the social world around him, visual metaphors which, in a poetic way, represent valid interpretations of reality.
Influenced by various traditions still present in his native country of Bulgaria, Konstantinov creates his intricate paintings using oil on canvas.
Konstantinov completed his art education with a masters of fine arts degree at the Fine Arts Institute in Sophia, Bulgaria. The artist worked primarily in wood cuts, illustrated various books (mostly for children) and was teaching fine arts at the Fine Arts Institute until the year 2000. When he came to the United States, he began painting in oils at his studio in California.
