Kevin Boldenow

KRB Photo Imagery

"I'm hoping my photography, no matter it's where taken, creates a better understanding of our environment and history. I want my audience to recognize the beauty and power of nature, not just in Florida, but everywhere in the world. Stories are not told in words alone, but in images directly related to our past. My photography continues to expand and evolve to incorporate new themes and styles."

At an early age, Kevin Boldenow's father pointed out the importance of nature. Growing up in the 1960s, he realized how destructive a course we had taken—dumping pollutants in the Great Lakes, using DDT and other pesticides without proper testing—upsetting the balance of our ecology. Boldenow's junior high school class participated in the first Earth Day celebration at the University of Michigan, which left a lasting impression on him.

Kevin Boldenow's business is different from other photographers because he caters his photos and services to individuals, museums, interior designers, art collectors, and more. He continues to use film and a digital camera for his black and white work. His landscapes are surreal yet accurate images that highlight the natural beauty of the environment.

Boldenow's lifelong passion for photography began the moment he picked up his parents' Brownie camera. Since that time, he has built a career as a professional photographer specializing in 35mm, medium format, and digital landscape and figurative imagery. In addition to his native Michigan, Kevin also lived in Texas, New Jersey, and Virginia before moving to Florida in 1996.

He currently exhibits in several galleries across Florida. In 2004, he received the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship Grant for Visual and Media Artists. The Consortium award is one of the most prestigious awards given to artists in the United States, having been judged by both local and national art experts.
